DEMOCRATS OPPOSE THE WAR WITH IRAN BECAUSE THEIR FIRST PRIORITY IS DEFEATING DONALD TRUMP AND ISRAEL
If anyone doubted that the traditional Democratic Party is a dead empty carcass that has been filled by the America hating, antisemitic, Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), look no further than the response of Democratic elected officials to the joint American Israeli attack on Iran.
Rather than celebrating the defanging of a regime that has been at war with the United States since 1979 and is responsible for the deaths and maiming of 1000s of American service members, Democrats (other than Senator John Fetterman, a true profile in courage) are blaming Donald Trump for “starting a war of choice.”
Rather than rallying behind our troops, praying for their safety, and promising to give them everything they need to ensure an American victory, Democrats are telling our troops they will “fail” and that their cause is “unjust.”
Rather than reveling in the fact that Israel and our Arab Gulf allies are openly aligned in defeating a common enemy (a goal of every American president with the possible exception of Barack Obama who sought to marginalize and ostracize Israel), Democrats are openly fighting to save a nihilistic Nazi death cult that is dedicated to destroying and/or destabilizing our allies.
Rather than standing with the freedom loving people of Iran who are fighting to liberate themselves despite being murdered in the streets in the tens of thousands by their own government, Democrats remain indifferent to the Iranian’s cries for help while Democrats fight desperately to save Hamas and ceaselessly defame Israel.
Unfortunately, the explanation for the Democrats’ conduct is simple. The two peoples the modern Democratic Party hate more than anyone, Donald Trump and Israel, are winning and Democrats are apoplectic.
It is irrelevant to them if America wins.
On the contrary, for the DSA, it is critical that America lose.
For the “moderates” in the Democratic Party, it is enough that Trump and the Jews lose and they have dedicated themselves to do everything in their power to make that happen. If it causes America to lose, it is a price they are willing to pay.
New York City Mayor, Communist Jew-hater and the new face of the Democratic Party, Zohran Mamdani was quick to condemn the attack:
“Today’s military strikes by the United States and Israel mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal act of war of aggression… Bombing cities, killing civilians, opening up a new theater of war — Americans do not want this. Americans do not want another war in pursuit of regime change. We want an answer to the affordability crisis. We want peace.”
This is not a war of “aggression.” This is an act of self-defense.
Moreover, all wars are by choice. No nation can be forced to fight a war. Like the French in World War II and the modern Democratic Party, surrender is always an option.
Apparently, Mamdani is indifferent, unaware, or maybe even supportive of the 47 years of war the Islamic Republic has been waging against America. The problem for America is that until today, we have chosen not to fight back.
Since he is only 35 years old, Mamdani may have not read about how the Iranians stormed the American Embassy in 1979 and held Americans hostage for 444 days: An act of war under any definition.
His education may not have included learning about how the Iranians murdered over 240 Marines in Beirut, Lebanon in 1983 or the killed over 20 service members at the Khobar Towers, in Saudi Arabia in 1996.
But only malevolence and a loathing of America can explain his ignoring how Iran was responsible for over one-third of the dead and wounded in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars and why he never mentions the over 300 attacks against American service members in Iraq and Syria by Iran or its proxies during the Biden Administration.
We know Mamdani supports Iran’s goal of destroying the Jewish State of Israel. So, he likely viewed with favor Iran’s efforts to develop a nuclear weapon and a ballistic missile system with which to deliver it.
Exactly why he believes this is “an illegal act of war of aggression” is not explained. That is because this is a legal act of self-defense.
The implication that the United States is indiscriminately “[b]ombing cities” and “killing civilians” is a grotesque lie. We are careful to attack only legitimate military sites. It is the Iranians, like their proxies Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, who are targeting civilians and non-military sites in Israel, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait. Those attacks do not seem to disturb Mamdani. Probably because he believes they are justified.
There is nothing new in this Orwellian dystopian world view. These are the same blood libels Mamdani accuses Israel of committing while supporting Hamas’s efforts to carry out a genocide against the Jews (aka, Globalize the Intifada).
When Mamdani states “[w]e want peace.” No doubt he does. However, he believes that there can be peace only if Israel is destroyed and America is defeated.
While Mamdani’s world view was once considered extreme in the Democratic Party, his contempt for America and Israel is now a litmus test for any prospective Democratic candidate.
In response to a question by a reporter regarding the justification for the American Israeli attack, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries responded:
“There’s no indication that Iran had reconstituted its nuclear program. There’s no indication that Iran was prepared to strike the United States preemptively or to strike any of our interests in the region. And there certainly is no justification for a regime change war. The American people want us to focus on making their life better, making their life more affordable, not getting involved in another endless war in the Middle East that is going to end in failure. This administration somehow found the resources,—has found billions of dollars—for bombs, but can’t find any money to actually bring down the high cost of living here in the United States of America.”
Jeffries was born in 1970, so he does not have the excuse that he was not around at the birth of the Iranian Regime. Even as a 9-year-old there was no escaping seeing our blindfolded and handcuffed American diplomats and embassy workers on television being marched around Tehran.
It was an all-consuming national humiliation.
His statement regarding Iran not reconstituting its nuclear program is too cute by half. Everyone knows Iran was committed to developing a nuclear weapon. However, as he well knows, the immediate threat to the United States and our allies is Iran’s ballistic missile program and its support for international terrorism.
His statement that “There’s no indication that Iran was prepared to strike the United States preemptively or to strike any of our interests in the region,” is utterly bizarre.
Iran has been “preemptively” striking America for 47 years. How many times must America be attacked and how many American service members must die or be maimed, before an American response is justified?
However, nothing Jeffries says is more outrageous than that our military is fighting a major war “in the Middle East that is going to end in failure.” How dare he attempt to demoralize our troops. These brave Americans who are risking their lives to protect Western Civilization and our way of life, deserve nothing but our unwavering support and adulation.
Instead, he is rooting for an American defeat so Democrats can have a political weapon to use against the President. But what should we expect from a man who endorsed Zohran Mamdani to be mayor of New York City? Clearly, Jeffries is unqualified to ever be Speaker of the House.
Unfortunately, this is now standard for the modern Democratic Party. For them, the military is merely a vehicle for social experiments including a quest for Social Justice and Diversity Equity and Inclusion. Lethality, fighting wars, and defending the homeland are anathema to Democrats.
Then there is the question of whether President Trump has the legal authority to launch the attack. Of course he does.
Between his power as the Commander-In-Chief under the Constitution, various Authorizations for the Use of Military Force passed by Congress, and the War Powers Act (assuming it is constitutional), the President was well within his authority to act.
The fact that Congress has the power “to declare war”, does not change that calculus. Congress can of course cut off funding for the war. Good luck with that.
When then Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi was asked in 2011 whether President Obama could attack Muammar Qaddafi’s Libya without Congressional authorization, she replied with one word, “Yes.”
Qaddafi posed no risk to the United States. He had verifiably given up his nuclear weapons program years before. He never had the capacity to attack the American homeland. At the time of Obama’s attack, Qaddafi was weak and ineffectual.
Yet Obama led from behind and toppled his regime not to defend Americans, but to defend Libyan rebels in a civil war.
For Obama and the Democrats, these rebels, no friends of America, were worth defending and committing the American military.
But standing with the Iranian people who are fighting for their freedom, defending Israel and our Gulf Arab Allies, and protecting American Service Members and the American homeland, is not a good enough reason for President Trump to defend Western Civilization and American National Security.
Finally, there are some Democrats like Senators Chris Murphy (CT) and Tim Kaine (VA) (both of whom voted to embargo weapons to Israel during the Biden Administration) argue that the American action is not necessary because all Trump has to do is go back to Obama’s nuclear deal.
Of course, this is a non-sequitur.
As discussed, Iran’s threats go well beyond their nuclear program.
But even if the nuclear program is the only objective, Obama’s nuclear deal– which was rammed down the throats of the American people over bi-partisan Congressional opposition – gave Iran a legal path to a nuclear weapon. All limits on uranium enrichment expired in 2030. It allowed for the development of a ballistic missile program with which to launch a nuclear weapon. It also gave Iran $115 billion in sanctions relief which allowed the Ayatollah to fund his international terror network, his military, and his hegemonic goals in the region.
The truth is, Iran is the threat it is today precisely because of Obama’s nuclear deal.
Donald Trump is fighting to save Western Civilization and the American homeland. Our service members, who are in harm’s way, deserve our uncompromising support.
For the modern-day Democratic Party, that is simply a bridge too far because their first priority is defeating Donald Trump and Israel.
